1A. The main targeted audience of mad men is 40 – 50 years old these are generally in the social economic grouping of C1 – A.

1B. Man men can be identified to appeal to that specific audience in a way as the older generations will have a feeling of nostalgia because the mise-en scene is clearly representing the 1960s set in New York.

1C. The nostalgia feeling set by the mise-en scene connotations gives pleasure to the audience because they may reminisce how things used to be in the past when they were children or they may just enjoy this period in time which appeals to them for information, entertainment reasons.

1D. There is a narrative sequence where nostalgia is present this is where the business in mad men go the Jaguar car conference we notice the old fashioned cars, streets, clothing styles that people had back in the day the mise-en scene shows a lot of this, also the only time diegetic music is playing is in this narrative sequence it is of a stereotypical jazzy feeling which is related to the 1960s music.

2. Lost does target a passive audience because it is done by a well-known company for its passive audience releases of media texts so it has audience which is mainly passive, Lost is also shown on at time when the majority of its passive audience would watch it meaning it wouldn’t be on too late or too early in the morning.

3. Lost is encoded in many ways to give pleasure to the audience it includes a lot of action already in every episode to keep the audience interested and on edge, it also includes a lot of well know actors which may interest a wide audience range as well as providing a lot of diegetic sound and effects to make the drama scenes more effective and aesthetically appealing and even the ending and opening sequence is produced to leave suspense in the air.

4. Lost would have to use less diegetic sound, less action all the time in the episodes also the use of more encrypted symbols may change the audience such as adding symbols instead of explaining or showing what is happening at this point in time. Lastly the use of less famous or famous actors appealing to the niche audience of mad man would help too.

5. Peaky blinders has been encrypted to provide pleasure to both active and passive audiences because it keeps a balance by using some effects and diegetic sounds when the action is occurring attracting the passive audience but also using more symbols and less diegetic sound attracting the active audience.

6.The statement “lost is encoded to be inclusive” shows that the producers made the show to be targeted to a passive audience and also an active audience to gain a wide range of viewers.
7.The use of a score is important to the passive audience because they judge if a film or series is decent enough to be watched. For example a series with a high rating is very popular and has probably gained awards for its appeal meaning it is more worth a watch than a series that has much lower rating because this may not have any awards or any famous actors in it meaning it is likely to not appeal as much as it should have.

The text of Peaky blinders is a crime drama which is set in the town of Birmingham in the era of 1919 its setting appeals to most audiences who like a retro feel to there programmes they enjoy.Peaky blinders is a programme which is shown on BBC 2 this is important to be mentioned because BBC 2 is renowned for showing programmes which target art,culture,drama and some comedy to entertain its viewers. BBC 2 also shows a lot of high brow texts and because of this it gains a reputation from the audience meaning over time audience will watch BBC 2 to watch texts like peaky blinders that are high brow.Peaky blinders can also attract a passive audience as well as its active auidence this is because it contains various mainstream elements as well as achieving a intellectually and culturally rich text.The active audience may be appealed to Peaky blinders because of its high production and cinematography included meaning they enjoy viewing slowmo in a fight scene or other editing effects this also adds well to the genre of it being a crime drama adds action and tension to hook the audience into watching more of the programme.Peaky blinders can also gain a mainstream audience in a different way this is by having famous actors in the programme series which mainstream audiences will recognise and by doing so they might be interested to watch this regarding the fact it is meant for a active audience initially

This proves its not a main stream programme because it lets the audience think and become active towards each of the characters an have their own view on their actions they perform this is what the AMC is trying to achieve by trying to make the series of mad man character driven instead of plot driven like LOST.

Mad men: Discuss the auidence appeal of the texts (30)

Within Mad men it appeals to its niche audience in various ways the main appeal is towards an older generation this is because the text uses a lot of nostalgia referring to the time of the setting by including some at rare times non diegetic music this either presents jazzy music of the 1960 or depressing music on the day when the company presented their car design because this has been a dodgy deal to twist the opposing votes in the companies favour.The audience uses this text to either use it for information or escapism.Starting with escapism people enjoy this type of niche media text because it doesn't make the audience think in the certain way it does this by not using any non diegetic music so the audience can have a view of each of the characters in their own way.Escapism is also affective on the audience who love nostalgia and can give them a break on reality to delve into a setting where the rules of the 1960s apply such as men was more dominent and powerful than women and being racist was more acceptable than it is today.Mad men can also be applied for infomation to learn and understand how things were in the 1960s this is not a bad source of it because the series tries to make it as realistic as possiable this is displayed within the mise en scene from the suits and clothing that the office people wore daily to the style of the flats and what people had back in those days.

Scene from lost
Most media texts target a range of different audiences "how true is this for your chosen texts"
The programme of Lost is produced by the organisation of ABC this is specially well know for generating varoius mainstream tv programmes. Lost attracts a multi culture audience this is due to the fact that nearly all of the characters are of a different race such as british in the scene it also it a mainstream programme.Being mainstream Lost likes to include a lot of action and enigma codes within the scene where the characters face a polar bear the cameras tempo is very fast and switches between sawyer and sadaid as they argue between themselves this builds up the speed and then finally a loud diegetic sound of the poler bear breathing builds tension into the scene.Another aspect of mainstream is when they are running from the polar bear there is a short clip of Kate running while this is happening non dietetic fast paced sound plays building tension too.Finally once the scene as ending they realise that this is a polar bear they ponder this for a moment and suddenly the scene cuts of and as this happens a non diegetic loud gonging sound queues another enigma code and leaves the audience wanting to watch more and not questioning this make the audience become very passive.

Sin city genre analyse within scenes
How typical is their genre of comic book and film noir in sin city?

The genre of sin city is of comic book and film noir this is shown throughout all of the conventions and connotations,presented through the use of diegetic and non diegtic sound and indicated within the narrative themes.
The first scene i will analyse is the opening scene of the film it sets of in a city upon rooftops where a female character is wearing a red dress with red lipstick on in the black and white back ground the red dress and lipstick portray that of a sense of danger about to unfold.Within the scene it rains and is rather dark the lighting is very low key the female in it is shown to be a femme fatale because she smokes and the way the camera presents her gives an area of mystery about her these are all classic film noir conventions.
When looking at the comic book conventions we see a scene for a moment where the reality turns into a 2d black and white silhouette everything is drawn as if it came from a comic book when the kiss,another indicator is when the scene pans out from the rooftops moves onto the actors who play parts the words"sin city" convert from the buildings into a comic book style. Also non diegetic music starts to play this gives the sense of a comic book feel that many comic book films throughout the years have used for example spider man or batman the movie.

The second scene im going to analyse is the section when Hartigan and Bob try to save Nancy from Junior the film noir connotations are presented in the form of when Hartigan is trying to get to Nancy he knocks out Bob because there is a sense of no trust later on in the scene this is proven to become true when Bob shoots Hartigan down,When trying to save Nancy the scene also shows very bleak scenery and low key lighting is used to add to the effect.
Comic book genre is presented in this scene when Bob shoots Hartigan he is still alive it takes a few shoots to make him unconscious this also happens with Juinor his hand gets shot of and he gets shot but he is still alive this shows the super human abilities given to characters just like in comic books.There is also the part when Hartigen suffers from his heart condition he falls to the ground and there is dialogue that tells him to get up and stop messing around this is also another connotation in comic books to support hero's in times of struggle to save the princess.

Fish tank (2009)

How is the narrative represented in social realism?

In the film fish tank it tends to present the text in the way in which real life is presented with all its difficulties this links with the theory of Todorov as it cannot really be applied to the whole situation with the films story line mainly because there is a lot of issues involved in the film, including the scene where the horse is chained up and Mia has a connection with it to herself so she attempts to break it free however gets caught by gypsy's and tries to escape.Lots of equilibrium breaking scenes happen throughout the film trying to represent that not everything goes well in life in comparison to other genres of films for example romance always has a good ending.The only time in the film that shows a re equilibrium is at the end of the film this is presented by the first time she is on equal terms with her mother because they dance together and respectively say farewell to each other,when leaving the house a clip of a balloon flying away from her house is shown this shows a sense of relief that she is finally able to escape from being trapped in the situation she was in and finally able to start a new life which may be for a much better life style and environment.

The theory of Propp cannot be really applied to this text because there is no main hero's and main villain's its just a reflection on what real life is and in real life its not like a fantasy where people have set roles they change there roles through there actions.However in a particular scene Mia kidnaps Connors daughter because she is angry that he has left problems onto her and ran away without telling her, so Propps theory can be applied here because Mia is appearing as a villain forcing his daughter to come along dragging her by her arm whereas Connors daughter is dressed like a princess and is weak,struggling and in need of help.

Strauss's theory isn't found much within fish tank because of its genre being a social realism film there are no strong binary oppositions that do occur but it does reflects of some oppositions that might be strong .An example of this is in the sense of Mia always wanting to be different than her mother every time they meet they are opposites to each other and Mia always tries to find another way to try to escape from her life to gain a better one but in real life everything doesn't work out as it is mean to. Such as in the scenes where she practices to be a hip hop dancer then once she gets a chance at the audition she gives up and realizes that this isn't the path for her in life.

How is genre represented in fish tank?

The genre of social realism is represented in various ways one of the ways is within the type camera shots they use.In the first opening scene is when Mia walks out of the house the main shot is a tracking shot this is very good to show its genre as it presents it from as realistic point of view as if you personality were there walking behind the character watching everything in her life take place,later on in the scene it gives us a point of view shot this is another great way of making the audience appear to be there by seeing what Mia is viewing in her life making it real.Another important connotation they used to make it sound real is using little or no non diegetic sound at all however diegetic sound will be improved to make important or off scene actions clearer but for the most part the film bases of real life sounds of the surrounds for example when she is walking down the highway cars are heard which seems to over lap her voice just like in real life.

How is representation presented in fish tank?

Throughout the film a lot of representations are shown both of males and females.The females in it are mainly sexualised by the males this is shown in the scene where Mia dances in front of Connor his eyes focus onto her body as she dances the camera does this process too which makes it appear to the audience that they are looking straight at the male gaze from the eyes of the character Connor. In another scene female gaze is present too this is against muvleys theory when Mia observes Connor when he walks into the kitchen topless the camera does the same process as to when the males look at the women focusing on body part making the audience see what she is seeing.Most females are shown as sexualised objects even from a young age this is clearly shown when there is a gang of young girls  dancing wearing lose fitted and revealing clothing in front of a gang of older guys also being rather sexualised but the focus is generally males gaze towards females because  the gang of older guys are watching the girls dance in front of them and we know this because of the use of the shots looking at the men who are watching then towards the girls who are dancing..

Niche - Breaking bad

When watching a clip of Breaking bad there is various indications that tell the audience that it is a niche audience group. To begin with the show is set on a separate channel called "amc"this channel is shown not in the middle of the day or on a popular famous channel like mainstream series are on. Breaking bad starts between 2pm -10pm  on not such a well known channel this is because this is when the niche audiences like ages 25+ people will find them they must have certain interests in a action genre series to find them as they are rarely advertised on mainstream channels and times.
Looking at the social economic model most audiences will come under B which is your teachers and fairy paid professionals to C2 containing skilled blue collar workers, electricians and plumbers this is for reasons such as the  terminology used is to a fairy good standard and it applies to professions such as teachers because the main character in breaking bad is a teacher struggling in life.
Applying the uses and gratifications theory to the series of Breaking bad there is some factors that make up their own audience.To start of with personal identification can be linked in the form of the audience might of had a situation where they started to do bad things because they was desperate however it was for good reasons overall showing them there is someone else out there who have had problems like them.
Breaking bad does provide some information to audiences this may be in the form of their hobbies if they enjoy and have a interest in realistic action films involving drug dealing then they may be interested to watch this.Niche texts are focused to certain topics of interest this is why not much of a variety of information is presented to them only information based on a topic.
The text Breaking bad does apply for entertainment purposes audiences can watch this to relax,escaping from real life problems or filling time within there day if they enjoy this niche text.
Social integration can be included as a reason to watch Breaking bad audiences may watch it to gain insight into circumstances of other characters in the series and how they struggle through situations faced with them this makes the audience feel social empathy toward them which makes them enjoy it.

The male gaze focusing on the text from American Beauty
Throughout the clip we can apply laura mulvey's theory of male gaze and how it is presented to us through the text .The first aspect to look at is the way the view of the camera records the text this is shown when the male gaze is presented there is a loud non diegetic sound as it splits the guy from reality to his sort of fantasy version when the cheerleaders form a certain position it zooms focusing on the cheerleader in the middle,there is also a spot light that appears on the character drawing the audience that she is an important main focus.Throughout the male characters fantasy version in the text the camera shots start to zoom even more on to her the audience view close ups of the girls body focusing in features of the male gazes interest for example her chest,in the background of the image it is darken and a school bell is ringing there is no people around other than him and the girl as a long shot is shown to see only him on the stands.
When observing the view of which the audience sees it is clear that the view of the cheerleader girl is from a point of view from the males eyes however the girl is shown to be unaware of the situation and doesn't realize he is staring at her this means the girl is passive and the man is active.Linking this with laura mulveys ideas with the male gaze her theory is proven true in this situation as the man has the dominant ideologically by showing only his view on the girl not including the girls view on him and she is shown as just a object for his scopophilia.
There are 4 different types of characters within the text these are the man,lady,daughter,cheerleader girl these are all shown very differently towards the audience .To begin with the man is shown to be middle aged and appears to have a mid life crisis as he isn't on good terms with his daughter as originally he did not want to come and rather watch James bond films this hints that this is what middle aged men like to do for hobbies.
The lady in the scene appears to also be middle aged she is shown to be caring for her daughter and forcing her husband to come along to the event as it is important,when her husband starts to fantasize about the cheerleader she is unaware that this is occurring so she gets cut out of the scene and this proves she is a passive character in the text. The daughter featured in the scene appears to be very moody and complains about her life to her friend she doesn't seem to be on good terms with her parents so she seems quite distant from them,the stereotype of moody teenager can be linked to this character from what the audience views because she is complaining all the time.Lastly the cheerleader girl is represented in the uniform of traditional american high school cheer leading clothes these are short frilly skirts, a short top all indicating the symbol of the high school they are from.The character herself appears to be friends with the daughter but her dialogue in the scene is limited she is very passive and in the male gaze of the man she is represented as a object for his pleasure.

The place beyond the pines analyse

In the beginning of the clip a male is presented roughly in his 20s and has a good body structure for his age than most males have in reality this shows males representation of having to be strong and work on their body to impress women to get somewhere in life. Throughout the clip you see males performing independent dangerous roles indicating that all males do this for a living for example the cut scene of the character robbing a bank and also motorcycling in a wall of death risking his own life for unknown purposes.
The women represented in the clip are shown mainly carrying a child in there arms this indicates that men are less of a family role and independent,strong as they show no emotions throughout the clips even when performing reckless actions. However women show emotions towards males indicating them as weak and dependent on the men this is even shown throughout the dialogue used for example "Your so smart you can do anything you want".
Another representation could be focusing on people in their 20s in the text  males are all seen doing actions like smoking,wearing tattoos this is a incorrect view on the real world as not all males in their 20s smoke and have tattoos.To prove my point there is a quote from Stuart hall that says "The media,therefore is not a window on the world"meaning not everything in media is reality its just a image of reality in that text that the producers create.

Opening to CSI ideologies

In the text there is quite a selection of different ideologies being presented to the audience one of the main ones shown is when the police want to investigate the situation however the forensics investigators use a act giving them more power over the police and in control this makes them appear to know alot more about situations like this and the implication that they are experienced.
Another popular ideology presented is the fact that both men and women are treated on equal grounds this is shown when involved in the investigation of the crime scene the males listen carefully to the women's ideas on the situation just as much as they males listen to the other male forensics investigators they are all shown that they are very independent and dominant through there tone of language and don't require each other to help them out in situations.
There is also a dominant ideology focusing on the crime situations they look into. In the reality of crime scenes they take a while to solve and a lot of back ground investigation and technical equipment is used to correctly identify the origin of the skeleton.However this text represents that crime scenes are easily solved and forensics investigators can judge a just found skeleton  to be a male or a female in past life just by uncovering the skull in a second.There is also another scene which pushes this ideology this is when the woman character finds a necklace she quickly runs to the computer and figures out what it is easily just by looking at a image of a person wearing it.

Does rock genre present stereotypical forms within my texts of Iron maidens “The number of the beast” and Area 11s “All the lights in the sky” album

The two rock bands cd covers I will be analyzing are Iron maiden's The number of the beast [1] album and the band Area 11 with their All the lights in the sky [2] album I will effectively show how each of their genres is represented, this is shown in different ways and these ways differ from each other’s style and meaning behind the artwork covers and the songs titles. To prove my points in the analyze of both of the texts I’m going to use documentaries a related one I am going to apply is metal evolution new wave of British heavy metal documentary, I will also use web addresses linking to articles of interest taking in other peoples views about the albums and further research into other bands like Led zeppelin or Pink Floyd which prove that rock has had a certain set of conditions which should be presented. There are also books I’m going to reference material from I’m going to use the books of “Rock music culture, a esthetics and sociology”. Lastly I going to use and apply the two videos featuring iron maidens “run to the hills” song and area 11s “shi no barado” song to further prove my points.The theory’s I’m going to apply to my work are the ones like the genre and uses and gratifications theories, I will also apply a couple of theorists to back up my argument these will be the following Steve Neale, Jonathan Culler, David Buckingham, David Bordwell, John Corner and Deborah Knight.

Rock genres normally present stereotypical forms over the century however some genres don't follow this patten and change into a hybrid of two genres for example rock and metal.

Repetition has been a key aspect in rock bands this is used to create separate genres, repetition is presented in all covers of the cd covers, song lists and videos. They represent their own individual genre with a varity of connotations and convections to present them, such as historic events on the artwork for example the rock band Led zeppelin[3] or bold iconic images such as in the band Pink Floyd[4] with their albums like "dark side of the moon".With my two texts i can apply older generations of rock band to prove that there genres give certain connotations and show repetition.The bands i'm going to refer to in the analyse is ACDC and there "highway to hell"[9] album this is the same genre as my text of iron maiden "The number of the beast".For area 11s "all the lights in the sky"[2] i'm going to related  the older band of Muse with there album of "origin of symmetry"[10]

In both my texts of Iron maidens album The number of the beast [1] and area 11s album All the lights in the sky [2] they each have their own song lists this indicates aspects of their genre by the choice of words used 

and the meanings behind the names.

Looking at Area 11 it has a song list involving the song names such as “shi no barado” and “euphemia” these are all presented like this to show its genre of gaijin rock being in a foreign language or with  references to Japanese animes. For example the song “shi no barado” actually means ballad of death in English and “euphemia” talks about a princess called euphemia in the anime Code geass.

When observing what each of the songs means it talks about iconic events occurring in series of different animes this again is relating to the genre of gaijin presenting Japanese culture in this form. For example in “euphemia” the lyrics tell of the event in the anime series when a massacre was ordered by a princess called euphemia. The connotations of electronic rock aren’t really applied within the songs meaning or names 

however it is shown in other aspects like videos and album covers.[5]

Viewing Irons maiden they have a song list which includes names like “invaders” and “run to the hills” these express the genre of hard rock of the assumptions that they will be very loud, heavy and fast because they include words involved with action. For example the songs like “the prisoner” and “invaders” these convey what the meaning inside of the songs will be and by doing so it shows them as hard rock to the audience.

Each of the songs in the list mean something that refers to the genre of hard rock with iron maiden they tend to have meanings that are historic events or religious issues with powerful lyrics to express it.

For example in the song “run to the hills” it talks about the British coming across the sea and running them out of their homes then switches to the naive Indians side of the story as they try to fight back against the    British but cannot reclaim their homes and lives.[6]

led zeppelin did an album cover with a black and white image of the burning Hindenburg airship crashing. The image refers to the origin of the band's name itself as well and referring to the historic event it shows aspects of their genre by the audience seeing catastrophes and the zeppelin blowing up these are commonly related to hard rock or heavy metal. In other rock bands album covers there is bold iconic images such as in the band Pink floyd they have used a triangular prism dispersing light into all the colours of the rainbow this relates to the songs in the album of the “Dark side of the moon” for reasons such as all of the songs from “Breathe” to “Brain damage” show stages in the human life cycle and the problems and issues which occur throughout it, the style of the artwork indicates a hint to the audience of the genre which is progressive rock.

The first text i'm going to look at is “The number of the beast “album by Iron maiden, the artwork here is represented as to show the idea of hell from an inspiration of a 1960's comic book. This was of a villain dangling someone on some strings like a puppet ,it is as replicated in the artwork as it of Eddie controlling Satan like a puppet, while Satan is also controlling a smaller Eddie. Also this design highlights some meaning of evil in a chain of Eddie and Satan controlling each other, the concept is relative to its genre being hard rock as they tend to show images similar to this.

Reference to iron maidens genre
Referring this to previous hard rock genre bands ACDC "highway to hell" we observe the artwork for instance to see similarities. This is because throughout time this genre has developed into a certain set of rules to appeal to its audiences .A good example of this is in the cover artwork, the band member Angus young is presented as a evil devil like figure shown by the connotation of him having a demonic tail,2 horns on his head, even his natural expression is appearing evil .When relating this to the artwork from Iron maidens album "The number of the beast" they both contain the connotations of devil or Satan in a form whether it may be a drawing or one of the members designed to be a devil.

When looking at the Area 11 “All the lights in the sky” artwork, this was designed based on a popular anime called 'Tengen toppa gurren lagann'. This is noticeable at the start of the opening song where the scene is very familiar to the album artwork .It is presented to the audience and from this they get the meanings that all of their songs are about different anime's. In the art work it shows a girl Japanese styled facing towards the sky into space from the planet. The character and the place she is standing upon is darken this may be a technique to make it stand out above all the colours on the artwork.
Some connotations that prove its genres being a hybrid is the fact it is futurist, set in space and the colours are very vivid this hints the genre of electronic rock .Lastly the connotations to hint it being gaijin rock are the focus that the artwork is set in a scene from a anime which is part of Japanese culture, also the character on the front is a Japanese styled anime character again referring to Japanese culture.

Reference to area 11s genre
Comparing Area 11 with previous electronic rock bands such as Muse "origin of symmetry" album the artwork included has a specific style and connotations like other genres, it has developed with its own rules which the audiences expect to see.
Within the artwork it shows a mysterious world with vibrant yellow skies, a white surface with strange shapes all the same dotted around the place. Also it adds a theme of being out of this world and unusual.Muse being a electronic rock genre band tends to use futurist iconic objects that relate to important scientific discovery's and theories. Linking this to Area 11's album artwork of "All the lights in the sky" they are very vibrant, futurist, also they give an appeal to their audience by leaving a area of mystery and showing that they are electronic by being in the future.
Being a hybrid Area 11 also has the genre of being gaijin rock.However Area 11 is the first band in the UK to present such a genre, but the connotations of what it is like are the aspects such as, for example judging the song list all of the songs are related in some way to Japanese cultural anime series or manga editions.

Analysis of Casino royale clip
In the text Propp's theory can be applied at the start of the clip it shows a character in a fight scene fighting James bond this is very intense and you start to think that the villain is the character fighting Bond however once the fight scene is over and Bond returns to the casino table to a new character Le chiffre awaits him he questions Bond that his shirt has been changed as if he knew a fight had gone down and Bond was injured this gives a enigma code of the question maybe he knew about the fight or had some involvement and this then hints that he could be potentially the main villain in the text.
The hero in the text is James bond this is proven partly in the first section of the clip he is gets attacked by a character when the fight ends Vesper runs of and he deals with the problem showing that he is skilled responsible and disposes of the body.When he enters the casino the villain is shown and acts strongly toward Bond this indicates again that Bond is the hero and isn't performing evil actions but trying to save people the camera then switches to a different setting and Bond is shown as a caring person and it also gives the implication when he is looking after Vesper that he is a hero helping the character in distress.    
Furthermore the character of  Vesper is the princess this is sort of shown at the start after the fight she runs of as it where her fault later on the hero Bond confronts her in her bathroom where a medium shot is used to show how she is crouched on the ground upset Bond comes up to her and says that he is cleaning the blood of her hands trying to comfort her as best he can. This shows that Vesper was a girl in distress and the hero Bond came to help her this proves Vesper is of a princess role.Looking back to Propp's theory the theory of Strauss it is relative here because when observing the text binary opposition is created throughout the codes and conventions there is the hero of James bond and the villain of Le chiffe they create a binary opposition as bond wants to stop Le chiffe's plans however Le chiffe appears to want to murder Bond to stop him from doing so this binary opposition could be good and evil.
The theory of Torodovs is also present in the clip this is shown through tempo of transitions and the type of sounds being played are specific points .Starting from the beginning it suddenly starts of with a fight scene between Bond and a character this shows that the equilibrium has already been broken and it uses diegetic sounds of Bond getting hit and bond trying to stop him,this scene also includes fast paced transistions between each part as they fight each other building the tension to the scene as of who will survive.There is sort of re equilibrium beginning to form later on in the text this is at the part where Bond goes to Vesper to support her after the character in the fight died.It shows this sense of a re equilibrium by changing the music to a much more softer,slower and calming tune this can also form an assumption to a bit of a romance genre from the text Casino royale showing a different side to things.
The general use of lighting throughout the scenes is artificial lighting they use the lighting in the setting because its important to make the film realist as possible for an action genre however the lighting in the scenes is not bright enough to be classed as high key lighting but they do use some fill light to balance out the area and set the scene.
Looking at the sounds used in the text there is two main ones used effectively to show the broken equilibrium and the appearance of a re equilibrium this makes the film more intense like a action film of its genre should be.When the equilibrium is broken the diegetic sound is used with a fast tempo to make the fighting scene more real  to indicate when characters get hurt and increase tension to the setting, once the re equilibrium happens the music changes to a much slower tempo and a non diegetic sound as soft calming music is playing showing that the scene is coming to a resolution
The mise-en-scene within the text creates every aspect in the clip to relate to its genre to appease the audience intended when creating the location this text covers the scene of a casino with a high stake bet going on and because of the year of the film its important to create the relevant props to make it as real as it can be for example the old casino card playing table and furnishings.
The costumes and props used included in the text this tells us what character is conducting what role this helps to relate theories towards characters and makes the audience understand them more before the true hero and villain are presented for example Le chiffe wears a expensive suit set for the year of the film he also has a scar across his eye this is represented as he may be a character associated with evil acts,a prop which he uses could of been the character fighting Bond in a earlier scene as he clearly knows that Bond just fought someone and changed his shirt to remove the blood stains.
